Welcome to the 43d Airlift Wing, home of the Gryphon, "we put the Air in Airborne." The 43d Airlift Wing Maintains a high state of readiness to rapidly deploy, upon short notice, a highly trained airlift force and successfully plans and executes air operations. . The wing comprises two C-130E squadrons, providing tactical airlift in support of the Army’s XVIII Airborne Corps, 82nd Airborne Division, and U.S. Army Special Operations Command. The base also provides air mobility and airdrop testing, as well as joint force training. The wing provides host support to numerous organizations, including the 23rd Fighter Group, 21st and 24th Special Tactics Squadrons, and the Combat Control School.
